Gratitude Spiral: Day 347

Today, I’m grateful for my husband, who’s celebrating his birthday this weekend.

There are so many reasons to be thankful for him. My life has been blessed for the past forty years, since that November youth retreat to which a mutual friend invited him. My life has never been the same. And I’m grateful. 🙂

Gratitude Spiral: Day 328

Today, I’m grateful for help with the yard work.

Sometimes it feels like all the housework and yard work fall on my shoulders. While it’s true that I’m not gainfully employed outside the realm of home maintenance, it’s still nice when one of my children or my husband has the time to take on some of the tasks. Even better, is when we can work side-by-side to get the work done. 🙂

Gratitude Spiral: Day 320

Today, I’m grateful for my husband having the day off from work.

He works hard — at least five days a week, for long hours, at a stressful job. It’s nice to have a day to spend together once in a while. Hopefully, a nice hike is in order. 🙂

Gratitude Spiral: Day 239

Today, I’m grateful for small adventures.

I roped my husband into riding around town the other night, trying to find a clear spot to view the passing comet, Neowise. We found a spot and saw the comet using binoculars. It was low in the sky, very light, a faint smudge, really. But we saw it. And the best part was that we had a mini-adventure together. Isn’t that always the best part? 🙂

Gratitude Spiral: Day 95

Today, I’m grateful for the hope that is embodied in couples engaged to be married.

My husband and I are part of a team of married couples who run a workshop once a year for engaged couples at our church. There’s such a blend of excitement, anxiety, hope, and stress that these couples exude. And they remind those of us not-so-newly-married folks how rich we are in our married lives.

Gratitude Spiral: Day 23

Today, I’m grateful for my husband. 🙂

I haven’t posted gratitude for any family members yet because I thought, of course I’m grateful for them! But it’s worth saying. So, I’m thankful for my partner in life, in adventure, in difficulty, in faith, in love. I’ve become this version of myself because of the road I travel with him. He accepts me, he challenges me, he shares his dreams with me, he even reads my writings! He works hard, and he loves generously.
